Deb joined HFS in January 2012. Deb completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons.) in 2004 and a Masters in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2007, both from the University of South Australia. Upon finishing this study, she spent some time travelling around Europe and working in the NHS in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Upon moving to London, Deb worked in corporate clinics at Allen&Overy and Standard Chartered, as well as in a Greenwich private practice. Subsequently, Deb returned home to Australia to work concurrently in a sports physiotherapy clinic, orthopaedic private hospital and with an Australian football academy team, before returning to London in October 2010. In addition to her physiotherapy qualifications, Deb is also trained in western acupuncture and dry needling as well as muscle energy techniques. Deb has a special interest in treating sporting injuries particularly of the lower limb, back and pelvis. Deb is a keen runner and gym user, and enjoys playing tennis and netball, and watching most other sports.
Greg qualified from Guy’s Hospital in 1991 and spent 7 years in the NHS where he found his professional passion for treating musculoskeletal pain and injury. He went into private practice in 1998 before co-founding HFS in 2003. Since May 2007 he has been based exclusively in our Harley Street site. He has recently taken up cycling, but it was his years on the rugby field where he truly experienced first hand what it means to be injured!
Mike Davis graduated from Nottingham University in 2001 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and has worked predominantly in private practice since then. Mike has a keen interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries and had the opportunity to work with elite athletes at both Newcastle and Durham University. Since graduating in 2001 Mike has achieved post-graduate qualifications in Acupuncture. Mike is a keen runner and has competed lots of adventure races. This has given him valuable insight into the physical and mental elements involved in endurance sports, the potential injuries that can occur as a result of inappropriate training and the most effective rehabilitation strategies.
Nick graduated in 1997 and has been working in private practice for the last 10 years. To complement his role as Clinical Director Nick still treats patients in clinic every day. He has a special interest in running injuries having been involved in running, rugby and athletics over the years and also in the treatment of headaches and spinal pains. As well as Physiotherapy he also has degree qualifications in Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology which are applied in clinical practice and he is passionate about trying to encourage higher levels of physical activity and fitness generally in his patients.
Sarah graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2008. She is passionate about treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries especially in regard to running and triathlon. After graduating from university she worked at a top New Zealand sports clinic and treated both Olympic athletes and New Zealand Iron men. Sarah also has a special interest in treating patients suffering from headaches, migraines and temporomandibular joint dysfunction, due to her own history of migraines.
Thomas qualified as a physiotherapist (MSc) in 2008 from the University of East Anglia. Since then he has worked in the NHS and in private practice as a senior physiotherapist. He has spent considerable time treating elite sports players and currently works closely with a number of London’s running clubs. In 2005 he graduated with a first in Physiology (BSc) from the University College Cork, Ireland. He has also completed a range of post-graduate courses and is a member of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. Thomas now has special interest in running and spinal injuries and is himself a keen tri-athlete. He treats his patients with a combination of manual therapy, acupuncture and specific exercise programs to gain optimal results.
Wayne graduated from the London Foot hospital in 1991. He has worked in both the NHS and private sector since qualifying and has post graduate qualifications in sports medicine and clinical podiatric biomechanics. He has worked closely within physiotherapy teams in the private sector for the last 8 years and has a thorough understanding of the use of orthotic therapy in management of lower limb pain and injury as well as injury prevention. Wayne has taken a special interest in the identification and treatment of underlying causes of injuries in runners.
Will graduated from King’s College London in 1997 with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy initially working at St. George’s NHS Hospital for 3 years before moving into the private sector in 2000. Will rowed with Thames Rowing Club from 1997-2004 winning at the Henley Royal Regatta in 2003. He has since used both his training and physiotherapy skills to coach men and women’s crews to success. His experiences with sport give Will and invaluable insight into the athletes mind and how they deal with injury. He understands when you need to be held back but also how to help you return to training quickly.
