Thick, discoloured, deformed, unsightly - These are just some of the words people have used when asked about their toenails.
Nails can be damaged by many things such as dropping heavy objects on them, repeated trauma from footwear, heavy sporting activities and fungal infections. This damage can often lead to nails being less than perfect, and apart from causing pain, are often cosmetically displeasing.
Both men and women are becoming increasingly conscious of the appearance of their toenails are are seeking solutions to this problem.
In the past options were often limited to hiding them in footwear, having them surgical removed or having treatment to thin the nail. Traditional acrylic nail builds from salons are not indicated for toenails due to the porous nature of the material which can exacerbate the condition, cause softening of the nail, encourage fungal growth and promote nail discolouration.
HFS Clinics are pleased to announce a new service provision - Cosmetic Nail Reconstruction.
No matter how severe the appearance of your nail, cosmetic nail reconstruction can provide you with a genuine ‘real look’ nail.
HFS Clinics have partnered with BCI, a leading manufacturer of medical grade resins to provide this innovate service.
Unlike traditional acrylic nail builds, the resin used in cosmetic nail reconstruction is a natural light weight flexible resin which looks, reacts and feels like your natural nail keratin.
The material can be exposed to water immediately after application, can if required be painted with your favourite nail polish which can be safely removed with normal nail polish remover without leaving marks or stains.
The nail is prepared by thinning using a specialist drill piece, is appropriately cleansed, then the resin slowly added to build a realistic nail appearance. The resin is built to take account of differing skin tone and pigment to ensure optimal natural look.
The final result is a light weight, normal appearing nail which would fool even the most fashion and beauty conscious eye.
The procedure takes around 30 minutes and requires repeating around every 8 - 16 weeks depending on your own nail condition.
Treatment of fungal nails is possible even with the application of the resin, meaning that you can cosmetically disguise the fungal infection during the treatment period.
The procedure is suitbale for both men and women and is becoming increasingly popular amongst keen sports players who require the protection of a good quality nail whilst undertaking high impact sports.
