This video shows mal-alignment during running. Note how the right pelvis drops, knee directs inwards and foot outwards when this runner lands on her right leg. 1. How this technique will negatively effect your running This technique can greatly reduce the running efficiency and increases the risk of injury to the runner. 2. What the consequences are of running this way This places extra stress across the knee and can overload the soft tissues around the kneecap causing Runners Knee. 3. What can be done to prevent it and/or correct it When running it is advised that you try and have good alignment as shown in the pictures, keeping the hip, knee and shin in parallel. This may need specific training by a running specialist.
