Treatment of a muscle tear or weakness will involve a combination of hands on soft tissue techniques and potentially acupuncture, stretches or strengthening exercises as required. Taping may be used to help improve the pain and muscle use while it is injured.
Following a muscle tear you should expect a six week period in order to return to sport. There is usually a graduated return but overloading the muscle before it is healed can lead to it re tearing. Pain is not an indicator of recovery with muscle tears.
