Traumatic injuries generally require surgery to repair the tendon or nerve followed by an intensive physiotherapy programme including various manual therapy techniques, soft tissue therapy, and specific exercises in order to regain and relearn natural movement again.

Over-use and repetitive strain problems need to have the underlying causes investigated and modified before the damaged tissue can settle down.

If the problem involves damage further away from the hand then techniques specific to the wrist, forearm or neck will be used and then may well combine with exercises locally or along the whole length of the arm.
