How We Work

Co-founders, Wayne Edwards and Greg Ryan, have been working together since the late ’90’s, blending the skills and expertise they have gained in their respective professions of podiatry and physiotherapy. They help a broad spectrum of patients; from young to old, elite to enthusiastic amateur athletes and those who are simply in pain.

No problem is too big or too small and, over the years, they have developed a reputation for helping patients with more complex and stubborn problems where previous treatment approaches have failed.

The Really Important Bit – Unlocking the Underlying Cause of Pain

The most important part of the process is the initial assessment where you, the patient, tell us the story of your problem. It might be a simple sprained ankle. But, equally, it might be a more complex history of recurrent pain and injury that just won’t go away. Whatever it is, your unique story holds the key to discovering where the treatment may start, and in their experience it isn’t always where the pain is.

Once we have found the cause we will work with you (education and understanding of the problem) to achieve the goals that are important, whether that is simply being more comfortable in your body day to day to running an ultra marathon.

The Foot Bone’s Connected to the…

If there’s one thing that we have learnt at HFS Clinics it’s that the human body is connected in so many ways and that different components and regions can influence each other, both positively and negatively. An old twisted ankle from 20 years ago could well be the start of things going wrong for your knee, your hip, lower back or even neck. Even how the pain and injury affects you as a person will influence how you get better. Please see ConnectTherapy.
