What happens in a Physiotherapy Assessment?
January 8, 2019
It is completely normal to be feeling nervous or scared when it comes to your physiotherapy assessment at HFS Clinics.
There is no need to be feeling either; we are here to get to the root of your pain. Here is what to expect from your physiotherapy assessment.
The first thing we will ask you to do is fill out a form, this way we have some necessary details about you and your condition. Next, the physiotherapist will ask you to come into their office for a chat.
Please do remember that all details are strictly confidential and you can disclose anything confidentially. During the chat, the physiotherapist will look over the history of your problem and will ask some detailed, in-depth questions about it. Throughout the sessions, you will also be asked about your health and your medical background. This is so the physiotherapist can get to the root of the problem.
Once the physiotherapist has a general overall idea of your conditions, as well as your medical history and general everyday lifestyle, he/she will want to examine you.
This again is straightforward and enables the physiotherapist to get to the root of the problem and to help relieve any pain you might be in. The examination will test out your movement, strength, and also your joints. The physiotherapist will look for dysfunctional patterns of movements such as walking and some light exercises.
After the examination, the physiotherapist will have a working diagnosis and be able to advise on the right course of treatment. The treatment is aimed at settling sensitive tissue within the body where the pain occurs, and also restoring regular physical movements.
At HFS Clinics, our physiotherapist is on hand to give you a detailed assessment of your pain, and soon enough you will feel back to normal.
